Operate through a UAE entity
Suitable where a genuine UAE business needs an owner, manager or employee route. Licence, establishment file, activity, office, visa allocation and personal documents must fit together.

Company-linked residence, Emirates ID, medical, family sponsorship and implementation for founders and families who are genuinely building their life or business in the UAE.
Choose the genuine immigration basis first: employment, an operating company, an eligible investment, property or a qualifying Golden Visa category. Then align the documents, status step, medical fitness, Emirates ID and family sequence. A residence visa is an immigration document; it does not, by itself, decide tax residence, banking classification or obligations in another country.
Direct answer · Reviewed 12 August 2026The right route follows the reason you are in the UAE. We do not start with a visa label; we start with the operating, employment, investment or family facts that must support it.
Suitable where a genuine UAE business needs an owner, manager or employee route. Licence, establishment file, activity, office, visa allocation and personal documents must fit together.
The employing entity and employment route are central. Work permit, residence, medical, Emirates ID and labour steps are connected but may be handled through different channels.
An ownership or investment route depends on the relevant authority's current evidence, licence and role. Do not assume a share certificate creates a residence entitlement without checking the route.
A property-related route is governed by its own value, ownership, financing and authority requirements. It does not replace the due diligence needed for the property purchase itself.
Golden Visa eligibility is category-specific. Property, public investment, entrepreneur and talent routes have distinct thresholds and evidence; this page does not duplicate that service.
Family applications are planned after the main sponsor's route is stable. Relationship evidence, insurance, medical fitness and expiry alignment matter as much as the initial application.
It records a UAE residence status under the relevant route and for the applicable validity period. The responsible authority decides issue, renewal and cancellation.
The card is connected to the residence process and is used across everyday UAE services. It is not a tax-residence certificate or a bank guarantee.
A TRC is a separate Federal Tax Authority application. It has its own eligibility routes, documentation, fees and use case.
A bank determines tax-residence information and reportability using its compliance process. A UAE address or Emirates ID does not remove the need for complete, truthful self-certification.
Use the right guide: tax residency before moving, UAE Tax Residency Certificate, Common Reporting Standard and Dubai taxes each answer a different question.
A company can be the practical starting point for UAE residence, but only when it reflects a real plan. The business profile, licence, premises, ownership, role, payment model and later bank file should all be consistent.
We map the business activity, owners, target market, location, visa needs and practical sequence before a licence is ordered. The cheapest package is not automatically the route that supports the later residence or bank plan.
The relevant company file, visa allocation and applicant evidence are prepared. Authority steps, medical fitness, biometric capture and Emirates ID follow the current route and appointment availability.
The founder's actual role should match the licensed operation and the documents the company can substantiate.
Corporate documents, ownership records, office and immigration requirements must be current and internally consistent.
Personal appointments are sequenced around the current entry or residence position. We check the route before travel or flights are committed.
Build the underlying company correctly: begin with Dubai company formation, compare Free Zone and mainland, then plan office setup, business banking and the complete formation cost.
Exact steps depend on the applicant, emirate and immigration basis. This is the working sequence we use to keep authority, medical, ID and family steps connected.
Confirm the genuine employer, company, investment, property or long-term category behind the application.
Passport, photo, current status, corporate or employment evidence and route-specific documents are checked together.
We verify whether an entry, status-change or cancellation action applies before appointments and travel are scheduled.
For relevant applicants, medical fitness and Emirates ID biometric requirements are coordinated through the approved process.
Check the residence and Emirates ID record, then sequence family, bank, housing and recurring renewal work.
Authorities and routes can request different evidence. The point is to prepare a coherent file, not a generic checklist copied from another applicant's situation.
Use a passport with sufficient validity, current identification details and a clear record of the applicant's existing UAE entry or residence status.
Corporate documents, employment records, ownership evidence, authority letters, qualifying property documents or category-specific approvals must match the selected route.
Plan legalised or attested relationship documents where required, and collect the sponsor evidence, housing and insurance material relevant to dependant applications.
Applicants aged 18 and over generally need the required medical fitness step for residence. The government portal notes this for residents and family applicants.
The Emirates ID application is tied to the residence process. Capture, data accuracy and delivery information should be checked instead of assuming the card appears automatically.
Rental arrangements, business evidence, bank records and travel history may matter later for other services. We keep them separate from the immigration application, but logically consistent.

The sponsor's status must be stable, then each dependant needs a properly sequenced file. This is where an otherwise good move can become stressful: relationship documents, medical appointments, insurance, school timing and expiry dates are often treated as afterthoughts.
A dependant's residence is connected to the sponsor. We avoid treating the family application as complete before the main resident's status and supporting documents are clear.
Passports, photographs, legalised relationship documents, insurance, housing and medical fitness for applicants aged 18 or over may be relevant. Conditions and the accepted evidence should be checked against the current authority path.
Plan medical, biometrics, school and travel around actual authority stages. A broad arrival date is not the same as an approved residence timeline.
Family permits are linked to the sponsor's residence. Renewal, cancellation and changes to the sponsor's route should be planned as a household, not person by person.
A lease or ownership evidence can be relevant to dependent applications and everyday setup. Keep names, dates and addresses consistent across the file.
Plan the practical cover separately: compare health insurance for a Dubai residence visa without confusing policy selection with immigration eligibility.
A Golden Visa can be valuable where a client genuinely qualifies and the long-term, self-sponsored status serves the plan. It is not a shortcut to use in place of an ordinary company residence route, and a company licence does not by itself establish Golden Visa eligibility.
The UAE government's Golden Visa information identifies a separate real-estate-investor category. Property value, ownership, financing and the competent authority's evidence must be checked against the live route.
Public investment, entrepreneur and other categories have distinct conditions and supporting evidence. A commercial venture may support a company route without meeting the separate Golden Visa test.
The official portal describes Golden Visa as renewable long-term residence and notes distinct treatment for time spent outside the UAE. Confirm the actual category before relying on those features.

Residence validity can differ by sponsor and category. The UAE government states that sponsored permits can be one, two or three years, while certain self-sponsored routes can be longer.
The usual absence rule is not identical across all categories. Golden Visa and Green Residency holders are treated differently in government guidance. Check the exact permit before making long travel plans.
Employer changes, company closure, a new sponsor or a move away can affect residence. Family status, ID validity, banking and health cover should be reviewed in the same plan.
“The important work happens before the appointment: select a real basis, coordinate the company or investment evidence, and make sure the family and bank sequence can follow.”

View service →For a founder who will operate a real UAE company, the usual route is to establish the company, obtain the establishment and immigration file required by the jurisdiction, then complete the owner or employee residence process. The fastest authority milestone is not necessarily the fastest route to a usable Emirates ID and bank-ready personal file.
No. A company can create a potential sponsorship route, subject to its licence, immigration file, visa allocation and the applicant's documents. The residence application, medical fitness, Emirates ID and approval are separate steps handled by the relevant authorities.
Usually, a resident can sponsor eligible family members if the current conditions are met. The family route requires its own documents, relationship certificates, insurance and, for applicants aged 18 or over, medical fitness. Family residence is connected to the sponsoring resident's status.
It depends on the applicant's current status, emirate and selected service path. ICP's current residence-issuance information refers to an in-country change-of-status request in relevant cases, but it is not a universal promise. We confirm the current route before appointments are booked and do not advise travel during a process unless the responsible authority confirms it is safe.
A standard residence route is usually linked to employment, a company or another sponsoring basis and its validity depends on that route. A Golden Visa is a separate long-term residence category with its own eligibility evidence and benefits. It should be assessed on the qualifying investment or talent criteria, not treated as an automatic upgrade from company formation.
No. An Emirates ID proves identity and residence status in the UAE; it does not decide tax residence in every country or replace a bank's Common Reporting Standard self-certification. Tax residence, banking disclosure and a UAE Tax Residency Certificate are separate questions based on law and facts.
The answer depends on the permit category and current authority rules. The UAE government states that Golden Visa and Green Residency holders have different treatment from the usual six-month rule; other residents should check their exact permit and travel pattern before relying on an absence period.
We structure the route, prepare the sequence and coordinate the UAE implementation around the company, investor or family facts. Government bodies decide eligibility and issue immigration documents. Tax effects in a previous or continuing country of residence should be reviewed with a locally registered adviser; on request, we coordinate a joint discussion with that adviser.
We review the immigration basis, document sequence, family needs and the connected company or investment work before the process begins.
